Sanctuary Choir:  Adults and Older Youth

Wednesday rehearsal 7:00 - 8:15PM, Sunday warm-up rehearsal 10:30AM.

The Sanctuary Choir rehearses weekly and prepares anthems for each Sunday Service. The choir leads congregational singing and sings anthems in a variety of styles. The Sanctuary Choir prepares additional presentations which have recently included Hymn Festivals, John Rutter's "Requiem," and Vivaldi's "Gloria."

 
 

Youth Choir: 6th - 12th grade

Sunday rehearsal, 5:00 - 6:00PM.

The Youth Choir is made up of middle school and high school aged youth. This choir sings in 3-part and 4-part harmony. Young changing voices can sing through the growing years and work to develop a solid singing technique. The choir learns songs of faith through the Christian year singing anthems in a variety of musical styles, sings in worship often, and sings in the Joy Gift Dinner Christmas program. Youth are invited to attend the Montreat Worship and Music Conference held each summer.


Junior Choir: 3rd grade - 5th grade

Wednesday rehearsal, 4:30 - 5:30PM

The Junior Choir works to develop the singing voice and musical skills to a higher level. Attention is paid to vocal technique and musicianship. The choir learns songs of faith through the Christian year, sings in worship often, participates in a Community Children’s Choir Festival, and sings in the Joy Gift Dinner Christmas program. Rising 4th and 5th graders are invited to attend the Montreat Worship and Music Conference with an accompanying adult.

Cherub Choir: 3 years old - 2nd grade

Wednesday rehearsal, 4:00 - 4:30PM

The Cherub Choir explores music by learning to sing on pitch, execute rhythms, and experiment with percussion instruments. The choir learns songs of faith through the Christian year, sings in worship often, participates in a Community Children’s Choir Festival, and sings in the Joy Gift Dinner Christmas program.


Youth and Adult Handbell Choir: 6th - 12th grade and adults

 Wednesday rehearsal, 6:00 - 6:45

The Youth and Adult Handbell Choir rehearses weekly, preparing musical selections for the prelude, offertory, hymn accompaniment, and occasional anthems. Music reading skills are needed for participation.
